The Contra Borealis Dancers were formed in 1998 when it was determined that the predecessor organization University Contradancers had too many roadblocks in serving the dance community with the affiliation with the University of Alaska Fairbanks as a student group. We joined the Northern Lights Council of Dancers and began having our regular dances at the Pioneer Park Dance Hall.
