Karina Wilson is a Santa Fe-based fiddler who has been playing for contra dances since she was 8 years old. She’s trained in classical violin performance, landing her a first-violin position in the Santa Fe Youth Symphony Association’s ambassador quartet at age 16.
Jeff Spero is an accomplished piano player who helps drive the dance music for bands such as Syncopaths, Euphoria, Jibberish, Flutatious, and Jax by providing wonderfully inventive and surprising piano accompaniments.
Susie Kendig has called dances up and down the West Coast, recently ended up in Juneau. Susie discovered contra dancing in 1989 and has been hooked ever since. She began calling in 1996 as a favor to a friend and thought that her calling career would last for one (may two) evenings. Susie’s concise teaching, commitment to fun, and light-hearted calling style keep dancers moving and grinning.

Tentative workshops topics: 10:30 smooth contras, 1 pm recovering from chaos, 3 pm unusual swings and transitions into swings
SAT FEB 21, 8-11 pm Pioneer Park Dance Hall Another lively contradance. Come and dance, practice skills learned at workshops and learn a few new waltz moves over the course of the evening.
